Law Enforcement — Vehicle Counter-Ambush, Linear Assault, Entry Tactics

Paladin Tactical's law enforcement program is led by a former FBI SWAT Senior Team Leader. The training cadre is rounded-out with former law enforcement and special operations instructors. Our instructors have planned and executed countless high-risk tactical operations — we will share our SOPs, experiences, and lessons-learned.

We offer contract training at your location or at our Bay Area facilities. We also offer several open-enrollment classes of interest to law enforcement (mixed with citizens). Hundreds of LE officers have attended our Vehicle Counter-Ambush Tactics (VCAT) classes, returning to their departments with valuable information to share. Also of interest to LE officers, have been our carbine and low-light courses.

Vehicle Assault Course

Vehicle assaults are primarily utilized to rescue hostages or undercover agents. These operations present high a level of risk.  In this 8-hour course, we introduce vehicle immobilization and the use of diversionary devices prior to the assault. We emphasize using proper sectors of fire to minimize “friendly fire” incidents. After learning the general tactics, we breakdown the individual elements of the assault process: 1) pinning the suspect vehicle, 2) live-fire into the vehicle, and 3) the planning process. The day culminates with scenarios with role players to simulate actual operations utilizing the vehicle assault technique.

Linear Assault

Linear Assault Course

Linear environments such as aircraft, busses, and trains are challenging for hostage rescue operations. We show a foundational technique to quickly dominate these targets and regain control in a chaotic environment. In addition, we cover the following topics:

  • Containment and isolation of the objective

  • Deployment of diversionary devices

  • Discussion of emergency vs. deliberate assault planning

  • Utilization of ladders for coverage and breaching

  • Evacuation corridors, search/sort areas, holding areas, and casualty collection points.

At the conclusion of training, we run scenarios with role players to simulate the linear assault process.
