Primary and Secondary

"Primary and Secondary" focuses on the integration of the pistol and carbine platforms.  This not a typical firearms course; it's an opportunity to establish baseline performance of each system and then explore what techniques are optimal for the particular context.  An underlying goal of the course is to forge analytical skills so that students can avoid the "noise" in the firearms community and remain on the path to excellence.

• Gear considerations
• Building a grip and stance
• Trigger control
• Performance of pistol vs. carbine
• Stopping the threat
• Evaluation of pistol and carbine reloading procedures
• Evaluation of clearance techniques for pistol and carbine 
• Transitioning between weapon systems

Required Equipment:

• Eye protection
• Ear protection
• LE:  Patrol or tactical gear
• Citizens:  Pistol belt/mag pouches and plate carrier/chest rig
• Handgun with 3-4 magazines
• Carbine with 3-4 magazines
• Two-point carbine sling
• 300 rounds handgun ammunition
• 300 rounds of carbine ammunition
