CCW: Casualty Care

The course is designed for both law enforcement and citizen first responders.  Once an Active Shooter is neutralized, we must shift to a "stop the dying" mindset.   Quick intervention after a violent assault can save countless lives.

First, the course will address the mechanisms of shock and three main causes of preventable death in trauma victims.  Students will learn how to apply tourniquets and chest seals as well as practice techniques to keep an airway open.  We will also explore improvised methods to control bleeding, maintain and airway, and prevent tension pneumothorax.
