About the Course
n Basic Carbine, we learned how to run the gun. Now let's shoot faster on the move.
Topics to be covered:
Incorporating movement while shooting
Multiple targets
Carbine to pistol transitions
Moving between standing, kneeling, and prone
Drills and "Gunfighter Standards"
Required equipment:
Pistol with 2+ magazines
Carbine with quality sling and 3+ magazines
450 rounds of carbine and 100 rounds of pistol ammunition
Eye and ear protection
Folding chair is recommended
Rain gear, if applicable
You must have an outside-the-waistband holster for your pistol. Inside-the-waistband, appendix or SERPA holsters (index finger retention systems) are not allowed on the range. No exceptions.
You must be at least 18 years old, a United States Citizen, and legally allowed to possess a firearm in order to attend this class.
Your Instructor
Dan Butler
Dan retired from the FBI after 24 years of service. He is skilled in crisis management, criminal investigation, intelligence, and law enforcement training. His assignments included SWAT Senior Team Leader (tactical commander), Weapons of Mass Destruction Coordinator, Chairman of the Bay Area Terrorism Working Group (BATWinG) and Supervisory Special Agent. Over the last 20 years, he has provided tactical/firearms instruction to hundreds of local, federal, and foreign law enforcement officers. He is certified as a firearms instructor by multiple agencies including the California Department of Justice. Dan has a Ph.D in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California and is a nationally-registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
