Meet-Up Information for
Carbine Courses

Time


Basic, Intermediate, and Mid-Range Carbine: 9:00 AM start

CQB Carbine: Check your registration email for start time

Meet on the RANGE to start class

  • Basic and Intermediate: usually TB-1 or TB-2

  • Mid-Range Carbine: MPR near the Corp Yard

  • CQB Carbine: usually AP-5

Please arrive at least 20 minutes early to class. Don't be late because everyone will have to wait for you.

Documentation

 

Please complete the 2 steps below at least three days before class: 

  1. Paladin Waiver

  2. USI Waiver  (USI has a new waiver for 2026. Please complete in order to receive your new "Orange Card")

Range Equipment

  • Pistol

    • 2+ magazines

    • Outside-the-Waistband holster

    • 50 rounds of pistol ammo (100 for CQB Carbine)

  • Carbine (AR-pattern, AK, Ruger PC9 or 10/22, Tavor; all legal barrel lengths are approved)

    • 3+ magazines

    • Tactical sling (we recommend Viking Tactics slings)

    • 400 rounds of carbine ammo (300 for CQB Carbine)

  • Eye protection (ballistically rated)

  • Ear protection (electronic preferred to hear range commands)

 

Visit the PALADIN SHOP to get the right equipment before class.

Protect Against the Elements

To make your range time enjoyable, we strongly suggest you wear the appropriate clothing to the range and bring sustainment items.  We train in the rain and in the heat. Take this seriously; we don't want you to suffer a heat-related illness or hypothermia during our training.

Hot weather:

  • Sunscreen and clothing to protect against the sun

  • Plenty of fluids

  • Cooling towel
     

Cold & Rain:​

  • Waterproof jacket

  • Waterproof boots

  • Handwarmers

  • Consider extra jackets, boots, socks to change-out when wet

Range Safety

Report to the range with your carbine and pistol in their cases. Exposed f
irearms are NOT permitted in the USI parking lots. 

 

At the Firearms Safe Area, put your pistol in the holster maintaining muzzle discipline. Bring your ammunition to the Magazine Filling Area. You may fill your pistol and rifle magazines with 10 rounds each. Wait for further instructions.

 

You may only handle your firearms at 1) the Firearms Safe Area or 2) on the Firing Line - Do NOT handle your firearms inside the classroom, behind the firing line, or at the Magazine Filling Area.

On weekdays, the main gate on Evora Drive may be partially closed indicating the range is closed. However, it is open for the Paladin Tactical class.  Pass through the gate and drive down the hill toward the public range. Just past the public range, you will see a sign for "Education Classrooms." Turn right and go down the hill.  Park on the gravel.

If the parking lot is full, park on the pavement next to the "Corporation Yard" which just up the hill and past the sign for the Action Pistol Range. Don't park in the public range parking lot.
