Home Defense Course

This is an outstanding course for those who want to protect their families in uncertain times.  Athough the course is designed for beginners, we quickly ramp up from the basics and move on to intermediate skill sets.  In addition, the scenario-based training will enhance your decision-making skills under stress.  After completing this course, you will feel  more confident if you have to respond to a potential threat at home.  The following topics will be covered:

• Self-defense laws
• Firearm safety rules
• Fundamentals of shooting
• Loading and unloading procedures
• Clearing malfunctions
• Discussion of terminal ballistics and ammunition selection
• Use of weapon-mounted and hand-held flashlights
• Extreme close-quarters shooting
• Solo room-clearing tactics
• Casualty care
• Self-defense scenarios

There is no live-fire in the class, but we will use AirSoft force-on-force during scenarios to test skill acquisition and decision-making.  Directions to the training site will be provided after registration.
