Paladin instructors are DOJ-certified and recognized by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.  


INITIAL LICENSE

Steps:

  1. Submit your initial license application to the agency.

  2. Wait for the agency's approval before completing the training courses.   

  3. Complete our CCW FOUNDATIONS (8-hours) and BASIC PISTOL (8-hours). Classes may be taken in any order.

    2. SEE BASIC PISTOL CLASS DATES

  4. After 16 hours of training has been completed, submit the following to the agency:

    1. SACRAMENTO SHERIFF CARRY CONCEALED HANDGUN TRAINING AND QUALIFICATION FORM

    2. CCW FOUNDATIONS CERTIFICATE (red border)

    3. BASIC PISTOL CERTIFICATE (red border)

  5. You will be contacted by the agency when your license is ready to be picked up.


RENEWING A LICENSE

Steps: 

  1. Complete our CCW FOUNDATIONS course or PREMIUM RENEWAL course (check with your agency for their renewal training window before registering).

    1. SEE CCW FOUNDATIONS CLASS DATES

    2. SEE PREMIUM RENEWAL CLASS DATES

  2. Once your 8 hours of training has been completed, submit your renewal application. With your application, include the following document:

    1. SACRAMENTO SHERIFF CARRY CONCEALED HANDGUN TRAINING AND QUALIFICATION FORM

    2. CCW FOUNDATIONS CERTIFICATE (red border)

  3. You will be contacted by the agency when your license is ready to be picked up.


MODIFY A LICENSE (add/change pistol on existing license between renewal periods)

Steps: 

  1. Sign up for a "License Modification" ticket at any CCW FOUNDATIONS course or PREMIUM RENEWAL course and come only for the qualification course.

    1. SEE CCW FOUNDATIONS CLASS DATES

    2. SEE PREMIUM RENEWAL CLASS DATES

  2. Once complete, submit your license modification application to the agency. Include the following document with your application:

    1. SACRAMENTO SHERIFF CARRY CONCEALED HANDGUN TRAINING AND QUALIFICATION FORM

  3. You will be contacted by the agency when your modified license is ready to be picked up.



QUALIFICATION COURSE


Target:

12" X 16" target

​

Stages:

  1. 1.5 yards: 5 rounds

  2. 3 yards: 10 rounds

  3. 5 yards: 10 rounds

  4. 7 yards: 5 rounds

  5. 10 yards: 5 rounds


Total: 35 rounds


Passing Score: 80%
