Paladin instructors are DOJ-certified and recognized by the Contra Costa County Sheriff.
INITIAL PERMIT
Steps:
Submit your initial permit application to the agency.
Wait for the agency's approval before completing the training courses.
Complete our CCW FOUNDATIONS (8-hours) and BASIC PISTOL (8-hours). Classes may be taken in any order.
After 16 hours of training has been completed, submit the following to the agency:
CCCSO PROOF OF TRAINING RECORD (sign before uploading)
CCW FOUNDATIONS CERTIFICATE (red border)
BASIC PISTOL CERTIFICATE (red border)
Schedule and conduct your official qualification shoot at their facility.
You will be contacted by the agency when your permit is ready to be picked up.
RENEWING A PERMIT
Steps:
Complete our CCW FOUNDATIONS course or PREMIUM RENEWAL course (check with your agency for their renewal training window before registering).
Once your 8 hours of training has been completed, submit your renewal application. With your application, include the following document:
CCCSO PROOF OF TRAINING RECORD (sign before uploading)
CCW FOUNDATIONS CERTIFICATE (red border)
Schedule and conduct your official qualification shoot at their facility.
You will be contacted by the agency when your permit is ready to be picked up.
MODIFY A PERMIT (add/change pistol on existing permit between renewal periods)
Steps:
Contact CCCSO for procedures on scheduling a modification qualification
Qualify at their facility.
You will be contacted by the agency when your modified permit is ready to be picked up.
QUALIFICATION COURSE
Target: COCOSO-1
Stages:
5 yard line: 6 rounds in 6 sec
7 yard line: 6 rounds in 10 sec
10 yard line: 6 rounds in 15 sec
Total: 18 rounds
Passing Score: 126/180 (105 with 5 shot)
Official qualification must be conducted by the CCC Sheriff's Office
