CCW 1: Foundation


Napa County CCW Holders:  Together, CCW 1 and CCW 2 fulfill the 16-hour requirement for the initial CCW application. CCW 1 alone serves as a renewal course. 


This covers the state-mandated material for CCW permit holders. The following topics will be covered:

  • Laws concerning firearms possession, storage, etc.

  • Firearm safety rules

  • Fundamentals of shooting

  • Loading and unloading procedures

  • Clearing stoppages

  • Discussion of terminal ballistics and ammunition selection

  • Firearm and holster selection

  • Post-shooting procedures

  • Live-fire qualification


Prerequisite:  In process with Napa County Sheriff's Office for initial CCW application or renewal.

CCW 2:  On The Move 


Napa County:  In conjunction with the CCW 1, this course completes the training requirements for the initial CCW permit.


All others:  This is a supplemental course for CCW holders or anyone interested in self-defense training. 


 Using the "crawl-walk-run approach," we review the basics and then work our way up to scenario training in a professional shoot-house.  In reality-based training, both successes and failures are outstanding ways to integrate new concepts.  This is an opportunity to learn how to address violence on the streets in a safe and professional environment.    NO LIVE FIRE IN THIS COURSE.

  • Review of legal considerations in self-defense

  • Choosing the right firearm, holster, and ammunition

  • Extreme close-quarters shooting

  • Casualty care

  • Self-defense scenarios using AirSoft pistols against adversarial role players.

Defending Your Home


This one-day course focuses on how to defend yourself at home with a firearm.  It's not enough to know how to shoot, you need to build a strategy and acquire critical skills to protect your home. Our instructors will show you how to safely move through your home under low-light conditions.  Know when its legal to use force in self-defense. You will undergo force-on-force training in a professional shoot-house  to test your skills and decision-making abilities.  NO LIVE FIRE  IN THIS COURSE.

  • Use of a flashlight in low-light environments.

  • Solo room clearing techniques.

  • Self-defense scenarios using AirSoft pistols against adversarial role players
