VCAT 1 and VCAT 3

These two classes focus on close, unsophisticated ambushes.  Determine the circumstances in which you may subject to a close ambush.  For law enforcement, these attacks may occur while on patrol, conducting a high-risk surveillance, or an executive protection mission. Therefore, wear the gear/apparel for the mission in which you have the highest probability of facing a close ambush.   For citizens, wear your EDC (Everyday Carry) set-up.   The  drills in these classes are an excellent opportunity to test the set-up of your gear, holster, etc.

VCAT 2 and VCAT 4

As stated above, mission determines equipment.  Patrol officers  should wear their normal duty gear.  SWAT operators should wear plate carriers.  Citizens can choose from EDC or plate carrier options.
