Renewal:  9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

What to bring?

• Eye and ear protection

• Pistol(s) with at least 2 magazines each (stored in case when brought to classroom)

• Approximately 100 rounds for each pistol

• Outside-the-waistband holster for each pistol.  If you bring an inside-the-waistband, appendix, or SERPA holster, you will not be allowed to holster a loaded pistol. You will shoot the course of fire from the "Compressed Ready" position.  

• Brimmed hat

• Rain gear, if applicable

Lunch:
For Initial Classes, we will take a lunch break from about 12:00 p.m. to 12: 45  p.m.  Bring a lunch or go out to nearby fast food restaurants on Willow Pass Road.  For Renewal Classes, we will not take a lunch break, we will end at 1:00 p.m.

Finding the Range at USI:
Drive past the main public range about 50 yards.  On your right you will see a sign for the Hunter Education/Action Pistol Range.  Turn right into the driveway and park on the gravel.  Our classroom is located behind the fence. Come on in!

Range Safety:

Please leave your pistol and ammunition inside your vehicle. However, if you can't secure them, you may bring cased pistols inside the classroom. Leave your ammunition inside of the vehicle.  When moving between your vehicle, the classroom, and the range, always have your pistol in a case.  You may only handle your pistol at 1) the Safety Table or  2) on the Firing Line - do not handle inside the classroom or at the Loading Table.
